Revolve on Camera
WITH GUEST FILMMAKERS BENJAMIN & HEATHER EPPS AND REVOLVE DANCE COMPANY
Revolve Dance Company will perform contemporary, jazz, and lyrical pieces alongside performance films for a rare and unique program blending live and cinematic dance. Company members will then join the filmmakers for a live Q&A at the conclusion of the screening. Revolve on Camera (ROC) is a compilation of selected Revolve Dance Company works staged for the camera on location in Houston and Southern California. It takes the audience on a cinematic journey through the emotional, stimulating, and thought-provoking artistry of this amazing dance company. The screening will mark the premiere of the ROC short films, with the exception of one titled Angsters, which won the Audience Choice Award at Dance Camera West Dance Film Festival in Los Angeles this past June. These short films will also be part of a feature film dance documentary about Revolve currently in post-production.
Since 2004 Revolve Dance Company, based in Spring, TX, has been presenting new works for stage that motivate, inspire and educate through the art of dance. Under the direction of Amy Cain and Dawn Dippel, both former dancers with Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Revolve has performed their work worldwide.
Benjamin and Heather Epps, the husband and wife filmmaking team behind ROC, each bring over fifteen years of entertainment experience to the table. Their production company focuses on developing and producing popular genre feature films with a strong influence from the fine arts. Revolve on Camera is their first feature documentary.
