Arthur Jafa: Artist Talk and Screening
Artist Talk and Screening

Synopsis
Join us for an afternoon with filmmaker, cinematographer, and visual artist Arthur Jafa, a visionary thinker whose concept of a Black aesthetic in cinema has been highly influential. Jafa will project a variety of rare short works that he has both made and found, and talk about his own biography and inspirations as well as the systematic challenges for Black filmmakers which led him to start a collaborative film company, TNEG, with Elissa Blount Moorhead and Malik Sayeed.
This program is co-presented with the Houston Cinema Arts Society, which is joining with Project Row Houses in hosting the Aurora Picture Show screening of Arthur Jafa’s Dreams Are Colder Than Death.
